Financial Benefits:
This is a fully-funded internship program in Germany. Successful applicants will receive the following benefits:
- Free Student Accommodation
- A stipend of Approximately 800 Euro Per Month
- Reimbursement of Airfare Travel Costs to and from Martinsried, Near Munich.
Length and Timing of Internship
This internship is a full-time immersive experience lasting up to 14 weeks. It takes place between May and August.

- Transcript (record of study) and degree certificate for all completed degrees (if applicable)
- Temporary/provisional transcripts for degree programs in which you are currently enrolled
- Document qualifying for university studies (typically high school degree, Abitur, Matura, or equivalent)
- Letter of recommendation from one referee (see information below)
- Letter of motivation (to be typed directly into the application form, no upload required).
Eligibility Criteria:
Eligibility for the Max Planck Summer Internship Program:
- All applicants from any country are welcome to apply.
- We are seeking exceptional Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral students worldwide with a foundation in Computer Science (equivalent to the first three years of a standard Computer Science Bachelor's program by the start of the internship) and a passion for CS research. Internship projects are tailored to each intern's unique background.
- Industry professionals with a similar background and an interest in academic CS research are also encouraged to apply.
- Students pursuing Bachelor's or Master's thesis projects are welcome to apply. The internship project can be adapted into a thesis if the student's university permits.
