Frequently Asked Questions:

Slovakia's National Scholarship Program (NSP) provides financial assistance to international students pursuing master's or doctoral studies or research within the country.

Typically, individuals submit applications for the NSP through the organization's website. This online process entails filling out an electronic form, uploading required documents, and providing a research proposal, if applying for a research scholarship.

The NSP provides scholarships for both academic studies and research projects. Slovak language courses are also eligible for scholarship funding.

NSP scholarships provide financial support to students, including a monthly stipend, health insurance, and a travel allowance. The specific amounts for the stipend and travel allowance vary based on the scholarship type and the student's country of origin.

The NSP application deadline is 31 October at 16:00 CET for Summer and 30 April at 16:00 CET for the Next academic year.

The selection of scholarship recipients is based on a comprehensive evaluation process. Key factors considered include the applicant's academic achievements, the strength of their research proposal (for research scholarships), and other relevant criteria such as language proficiency. Furthermore, the alignment of the proposed project with Slovakian priorities is also given significant weight.

NSP scholarship recipients are permitted to engage in part-time employment while pursuing their studies in Slovakia. However, it is essential that such employment does not impede their academic progress.
