Eligibility is open to both undergraduates currently enrolled or having completed their degree, as well as graduates who have earned their degree after December 2023. Financial Benefits:
The RIPS Summer Internship Program spans a duration of nine weeks. IPAM extends the following benefits to each undergraduate student participating in the program.
- Stipend of $4,000
- Travel allowance
- Housing at UCLA campus
- Meals
- Site visits with sponsors
- Limited partial support for future travel to select conferences
- Visa sponsorship for selected international students
Eligibility Criteria:
This fully funded paid internship, RIPS 2024-25 in America, is open to applicants with a strong academic foundation in the following fields: mathematics, data analysis, computer science, data and computing, statistics, numerical computation, and technology.

I will be graduating with my Bachelor's Degree this spring. Am I eligible to participate in the RIPS program this summer?
We welcome applications from individuals who are expected to complete their bachelor's degree between December and June of the current academic year.
If I am not a US citizen and I attend a foreign university, am I eligible to participate?
Your application will be reviewed for consideration in the RIPS-LA program. If selected, IPAM will assist you in applying for a U.S. visa.
Do I need to submit transcripts with my application?
To complete your application, you will need to submit an unofficial transcript from your undergraduate institution. This transcript should list your classes and grades. The file upload is conveniently located on the application webpage. When filling out the application form, you will be prompted to upload your resume/CV and transcript(s). Don't worry if you haven't finished uploading all documents yet, you can save your application and return to it later to upload one or both documents at your convenience.
Individuals with disabilities or mental health diagnoses: What considerations are relevant to me?
Students with disabilities who have been invited to participate in RIPS are required to submit documentation to the UCLA Center for Accessible Education. A counselor will review your documentation and request, and then advise IPAM on the appropriate accommodations for you. IPAM will provide you with instructions on how to begin this process shortly after you accept our invitation to join RIPS.
