TU Delft, the Netherlands' highest-ranked university and one of the world's leading technical institutions, offers the Justus & Louise van Effen Excellence Scholarships to outstanding international students pursuing a two-year master's degree. Scholarship Details
The scholarship provides €30,000 per year for students from outside the EU/EFTA region and €11,500 per year for EU/EFTA students, covering full tuition fees for a TU Delft master's program along with a contribution toward living expenses. The award runs for the full two-year duration of a standard TU Delft MSc program. Beyond the financial award, recipients become members of a dedicated scholarship club offering access to personal development activities, workshops, and seminars, giving scholars an additional layer of professional development beyond the classroom.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, applicants must be conditionally or unconditionally admitted to one of TU Delft's two-year regular MSc programs — joint education programmes are not eligible. Candidates need a cumulative grade point average of at least 80 percent of the maximum possible scale from their bachelor's degree, and that degree must come from an internationally recognized university located outside the Netherlands. A complete MSc application must be submitted before the scholarship deadline of December 1, 2026, since scholarship consideration is tied directly to the admissions process. English language proficiency is required for admission, and non-EU/EFTA applicants in particular must include valid English test results with their application where required by their chosen program. Prospective students should also confirm their student visa and health insurance arrangements ahead of enrollment, since both are mandatory conditions of study in the Netherlands.
