Eligibility Requirements for the Shanghai Government Scholarship:
- Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health.
- Age and Educational Background:
- Applicants applying for undergraduate programs must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and be no older than 25 years old. For master's programs, applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent and be no older than 35 years old. For doctoral (PhD) programs, applicants must hold a master's degree or equivalent, possess academic research capabilities, and be no older than 40 years old.
- Applicants applying for the pre-college program must hold a high school diploma, be under 23 years old, and have a letter of pre-admission to an undergraduate program from a Shanghai university.
- Applicants must demonstrate outstanding academic performance.
- Language Proficiency:
- Generally, applicants must achieve a minimum score of HSK4 on the Chinese Proficiency Test and meet the language requirements of the applied university and program.
- Applicants must meet the entry requirements of the applied university and program.
- Applicants who have received any other scholarships offered by the Chinese government or organizations are not eligible to apply for the SGS scholarship.
